The University of Cyprus, through the Campus Development Office, in the period of June 2011 – December 2012, promoted and completed an International Architectural Competition of two stages, which aimed in the selection and appointment of qualified Architects and Consultants for the design and supervision of the Building Facilities of the Department of Biological Sciences & Common Teaching Facilities 03 project at UCY Athalassa Campus.

 

 

At the Prequalification Stage thirty-nine (39) teams expressed interest to participate in the Competition, thirty (30) of which qualified and were invited to participate in the second stage which entailed the submission of design proposals anonymously.

 

 

At Stage B, twenty four (24) design proposals were submitted by Architects and Consultants from Greece, England, and Cyprus. These were adjudicated by a Jury of experts which granted three Prizes, four Honourable Mentions and two Merit Awards.

 

 

 

The following Awards were awarded at a ceremony which took place on the 13rd of December 2012 at the University House on UCY Athalassa Campus.

The Competition documents for both of the Architectural Competition stages were under the responsibility of Christina Zachariadou Sierepekli, Architect of the University of Cyprus Campus Development Office.
