The main objective of this action was the collection of information from local fishermen, so that local meteorological and topographical phenomena can also been recorded. Interviews were conducted both from local fishermen working in the free coasts of the island (from Paralimni to Pyrgos) and those worked in the occupied areas before 1974.    4.3.2

The collected information relates to the local meteorological phenomena, such as prevailing and seasonal winds and changes of wind directions during the day, and, topographical information, such as sailing hazards, landmarks, alternative anchorages for seasonal fishing, and shelters used in cases of emergency. All the collected data were fruitful and of great significance, as far as the local maritime history is concerned, especially when associated in areas with archaeological remains.              4.3.6
