“Sofia" the bee is the mascot of the University of Cyprus. It made her grand debut at the May 27, 2008 UCY Party, where students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends welcomed the University’s mascot named Sofia, which means “wisdom” in Greek. The community members have embraced this loveable character as the very essence of the UCY spirit, mission and vision.

 

Sofia flies with her wisdom all around the Campus. Look for Sofia to fly during the UCY events, as well as for her smiling on some of the UCY souvenirs.
