STEDE

STEDE is a thematic network of the European Union in Science Education Research (ESERA). It was funded under the Erasmus programme of the European Commission. It connects 119 researchers (from 24 European countries) involved in the field of science teacher education. The focus of the STEDE thematic network is to develop the effective use of the curriculum and didactic research and development in the preparation and reinforcement of Science and technology teachers, in particular with regard to education for scientific literacy.

HERODOT

HERODOT is a thematic Network for teachers and teachers of Geography in Higher Education. However, it is also in the thematic field of Educational Studies, as it seeks:
report on the impact of curriculum change and developments in geography and geographical education at national level and across Europe
promote excellence in the teaching of geography and the training of geography teachers through the development and implementation of collaborative interdisciplinary activities
it performs a coordinating role, disseminating information and good practices, facilitating dialogue between universities in Europe and encouraging the exchange of students and teachers
awareness of the need for pedagogical issues in the development of curricula and the use of specific educational products, including the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and ODL in geography, develop a common framework for the organization of professional development programs of higher education leading to courses at postgraduate and doctoral level as initiated by the Sorbonne and Bologna declarations.

Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope is a network of Excellence which brings together European teams in an improved learning technology. It aims to integrate 76 research units from across Europe, covering a wide range of expertise from technology to education, from academic to private research. In total, it is a community of more than 800 researchers in 23 countries who have participated in efforts to develop new ideas and methods for exploring the future of learning with digital technologies. In the 21st century European Knowledge Economy, Learning is mobile, social and multicultural. The Kaleidoscope places the student at the heart of an interdisciplinary research perspective, with theoretical foundations in cognitive and learning sciences as well as computer science and technology design. The network also has a strong practical orientation, aimed at increasing innovation and competitiveness and creating new forms of cultural and learning experiences.
