Προσωπικό Προφίλ

Ο Θεοφάνης Π. Μαμουνέας σπούδασε Οικονομικά στο Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης (1983). Έκανε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές και διδακτορικό στα Οικονομικά στο Πανεπιστήμιο Νέας Υόρκης (1989, 1992). Καθηγητής (2009) των Οικονομικών, Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής (2001), Επίκουρος Καθηγητής (1996) και Λέκτορας (1995) στο τμήμα Οικονομικών του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα συσχετίζονται με θέματα Εφαρμοσμένων Οικονομικών και Οικονομετρίας, Παραγωγικότητα και Τεχνολογία, Έρευνα και Ανάπτυξη, Ανθρώπινο Κεφάλαιο και Οικονομική Ανάπτυξη. Διετέλεσε Πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Οικονομικών του Πανεπιστήμιου Κύπρου , μέλος της Συγκλήτου του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου και μέλος του Συμβουλίου του Παντείου Πανεπιστημίου Κοινωνικών και Πολιτικών Επιστημών. Έχει δημοσιεύσει τις ερευνητικές του εργασίες σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά αναγνωρισμένου κύρους όπως, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Public Economics, Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Journal of European Economic Association, Journal of Applied Econometrics and Journal of Economic Growth. Είναι μέλος του Εκδοτικού Συμβουλίου του περιοδικού Journal of Productivity Analysis, και Ερευνητικός Συνεργάτης του Κέντρου Οικονομικών Ερευνών του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου και Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis, Italy.

Profile Information

Professor Mamuneas studied Economics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (BA. 1983). He holds an MA and a PhD in Economics from New York University (1989, 1992). Professor (2009) in Economics, Associate Professor (2001), Assistant Professor (1996) and Lecturer (1995) in the Department of Economics, University of Cyprus.  He has served as chair of the Economic Department at the University of Cyprus and as vice Dean at the School of Economics and Management. He has served on the Senate representing the latter school and also served on the Board of the Panteon University of Greece.  His research interests include   applied economics and econometrics, productivity and technological change, empirical growth with an emphasis on the effects of human capital and pollution, and the contribution of R&D and public infrastructure capital on productivity growth. He is an associated editor of the Journal of Productivity Analysis and his research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals including the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Public Economics, Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Journal of European Economic Association, Journal of Applied Econometrics and Journal of Economic Growth. His research on infrastructure has been quoted by various journals including the well renowned Economist magazine. He has also advised the United States Government on matters related to infrastructure.
