The Chemistry Undergraduate Program has been based on the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) since September 2005. The basic goal of this System is the development of a common methodology for the measurement of a student's workload. One important reason for the adoption of the ECTS in Europe is the existence of a uniform transfer and accumulation system of credit units, which will correspond to each course, based on the same requirements. This, in turn, will contribute to the establishment of a Single European and Educational Place. The major use of ECTS, which is based on the information mentioned above, has to do with the exchange of students. The exchange will be much easier since the transfer of credit units from one educational system to another will not cause any problems.
